BRUSSELS SPROUTS (FALL VEGGIES)

Brussels Sprouts are in!  Learn the best ways to plant them, keep them alive and eventually harvest them.

Can they be grown in containers?

Yes!  Be sure to use a large enough container if you choose to grow brussels sprouts in a container.  When planting them as seedlings, brussels sprouts need 12-24 inches in between.  If you choose to plant them from seeds, plant 1/2 inch deep, 2-3 inches apart.  When they reach 6 inches tall, spread them out to 12-24 inches apart.

How long do they take to grow?

Most brussels sprouts mature in 90 days.  Make sure to check and see what your specific type requires.

How much sun do they need?

Brussels Sprouts LOVE full sun! (6+ hours a day)

What varieties do you have in stock?

Strange’s West Broad carries (while supplies last):

Jade Cross: Deep green, 1″ brussels sprouts.  More compact and less susceptible to wind damage.
