Tree Lot Team Member

Strange’s in Short Pump is looking for agile and customer-focused tree lot team members! The tree lot team member assists in loading Christmas trees onto customer vehicles and helps with every step of the tree selection process. This assignment ends December 29th.

Permanent year round positions post-assignment available starting January 9th 2025!!

Scheduling: 3 days a week with 1 weekend day

• Assists customers and presents them with product information regarding holiday products
• Loads Christmas trees onto customer’s vehicles (trees vary in weight from 30 – 75 pounds)
• Unloads delivery trucks as needed
• Moves containerized shrubs or plants throughout the garden center
• Assists in re-stocking trees and holiday products

Greenhouse Team Member

Strange’s has position openings for fall/winter 2024 seasonal Greenhouse Workers at the short pump location.

The Greenhouse team member is responsible for assisting customers and maintaining product within the greenhouse area of the garden center. The essential candidate enjoys getting their hands dirty, exudes exceptional customer service and loves to learn. The types of plants this team member works with includes houseplants, blooming annuals, vegetables, and herbs.

Pay rate to be discussed during the interview process. Opportunity to on-board as a permanent team member January 2025!

**This position requires standing for longer periods of time, as well as lifting up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis. The essential candidate has experience working with blooming annuals.

Candidates must be able to work at least 1 weekend day every week consistently.

• Assists customers and presents them with product information
• Creates product displays with management guidance
• Waters, fertilizes, spaces, and maintains inventory of greenhouse product

The Greenhouse Team member assists the team in other areas when asked by management

Stocker

Job status:  Seasonal

Strange’s has a position opening for a seasonal winter 2024 stocker position at the Short Pump location.

The Stocker is responsible for assisting customers and adding or restocking new products/goods to the sales floor. The essential candidate has outstanding customer service skills and thrives in a team environment. Pay rate to be discussed during the interview process.

This position requires lifting up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis. Weekend work is mandatory for this opportunity.

Job Responsibilities

• Greets and assists customers
• Stocks shelves, retrieves carts and labels products
• Maintains cleanliness of the sales floor
• Receives, opens, unpacks and displays sales floor merchandise
• Assist in customer carry out and loading
• Completes tasks given by senior management

Cashier

Strange’s has a position opening for a seasonal Cashier at the Short Pump location.

Cashiers are responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service per company standards and receiving/processing sales efficiently through POS systems. The essential candidate has outstanding customer service skills and maintains a positive attitude and professional demeanor. Pay rate to be discussed during the interview process.

Cash/Retail experience and weekend availability preferred.

• Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers
• Greets and assists customers
• Stocks shelves, retrieves carts and labels products
• Maintains cleanliness of POS area
• Maintains awareness of all promotions and advertisements
• Communicates customer requests to appropriate management
• Completes tasks given by management
• Opens and closes POS area
